What to Bring on Your Boat Rental

Make sure your day on the water is all it can be. Don’t wait till you pass the Point at Sandy Neck to remember those extra-dark sunglasses or the book you left on the backseat of the car. Here’s a handy checklist of what to bring lest you forget…

• Lots of sunscreen — in SPFs to meet the needs of everyone in your party

• A hat can shade your face and protect your hair

• Beach towels and/or beach mats when anchoring and sunbathing are the name of the game

• Extra sunglasses – they never fail to fall off your head at the most inopportune time

• Swim wear — even if you aren’t sure at the outset that you plan to dive in

• Extra tee shirts for when you need to cover up

• Sweatshirts for the cool ride back to the marina

• Snacks and beverages – in a cooler for sustenance throughout the day

• A flashlight and extra batteries (you never know when you might need it)

• A First Aid Kit – basics like bandaids, antiseptic ointment, acetaminophen or ibuprofen are always handy to have on hand

• Cell phones are essential in case someone needs to reach you or you need to contact the marina

• A sealable bag to bring all your trash and recyclables back to land

• Books, Kindles, iPad, iPod — whatever amusements you can’t live without

And if you find you have left home without it, fear not! Many of these items are available in our marina gift shop that is open seven days a week for your convenience.
